Advanced Signal Processing Technologies
for Wireless Powered Communications
APOLLO-Project id: ERC-2018-COG

Inspired by the idea of Nikola Tesla on wireless power transfer (i.e., the transmission of energy without wires), APOLLO aims to design next-generation energy-efficient and energy-autonomous wireless networks, which will avoid the use of cables for battery recharging purposes as well as the replacement of batteries.

Influenced by nature, where both energy and information co-exist in harmony, APOLLO aims to design wireless systems that take into account both energy and information. Such systems will provide significant performance benefits and they will lead to new applications and services.

The ERC Consolidator Grant APOLLO targets fundamental issues regarding the modeling, analysis, design and implementation of wireless powered communication systems.

The results of the project will have high impact in a wide range of applications, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, and 5G mobile networks.
