‘Research is the development of the theoretical tools that will be used by the technology industry in 10 years’

Dr Ioannis Krikidis holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Cyprus and he is the director of the IRIDA Research Centre for Communication Technologies and the Mobile Communications and Networking (MCN) laboratory. He has a Degree in Computer Engineering from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department (CEID) of the University of Patras, Greece (2000), and MSc and PhD degrees from  the Electrical Engineering Department of Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST), Paris, France (2001 and 2005, respectively).

Dr. Krikidis is an IEEE Fellow and he serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications, the Transactions on Green Communications and Networking, and the IEEE Wireless Communications Letters. He is also Specialty Chief Editor at the Frontiers in Communications and Networks Journal

In 2018 he was awarded the Consolidator grant by the European Research Council (ERC), and since 2017, he has been honoured as a Thompson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher (HCR). His publications can be found here.

Moreover in 2013 he received the Cyprus Researcher Award-Young Researcher from the Research Promotion Foundation, Cyprus and in 2016, he received the IEEE ComSoc Best Young Professional Award in Academia.
